"My daughters have both attended DTA from a young age. Throughout their time at DTA, I have been so impressed with every aspect of this performing arts school. The ethos is inclusive, child centred and extremely caring. All the teachers are very patient and nurturing. They really do get the best out of the children. 

 

The standards of the school are always high and achievement is excellent. What I like about the school is that emphasis is placed on doing things individually based on the children’s preferences and their own stage of development. Nothing is forced or rushed through, so children who choose to take exams or other assessments, are ready and really keen. Results reflect this approach. But more than this, because of this approach, my daughters’ confidence in their dancing ability and willingness to perform has really progressed. So has their resilience. All the staff create a safe, nurturing environment for the children to embrace challenges. It has been a real pleasure to watch my own children develop their skills, confidence and resilience. It has been wonderful to see it happen with their peers too.

 

The shows that the children get a chance to perform in, reflect the ethos of the school. They are exciting, inclusive and fun. I have been so impressed with how well all the children perform and how much they all love it. 

 

There is also an emphasis on creating a supportive environment amongst the students at the school. Older students are encouraged to support younger ones and this is just so lovely to witness. Emphasis is on collaboration and celebration of everyone’s achievements. The students champion one another. This is such an important life skill. 

 

DTA feels like a big family. All staff dedicate so much to the students. My daughters feel a sense of pride and belonging to this school. I am extremely lucky to have come across DTA. It is a fantastic performing arts school and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a dance school that nurtures children and supports them to achieve some really outstanding things and understands the importance of developing mental wellbeing alongside dancing and performing skills.

"My daughter moved to DTA almost 2 years ago now and I am really impressed with the school overall. The teachers are professional, caring and fun- my daughter always enjoys her lessons. Both shows we have been involved with have been really well organised and communication from Charlotte to parents is amazing, I always know what is going on. The on site dance shop is a lovely extra touch too for convenience.

Charlotte recently organised an amazing opportunity for the girls to perform at Disneyland Paris, which was unforgettable! So happy we moved to DTA and I would highly recommend!"

My daughter has been dancing with DTA for the last 7 years, since she was 5.  She started off with just tap and ballet but now does everything apart from singing!  DTA is a family run friendly dance school that provides encouragement to succeed.  There is no undue pressure to “be the best” and as a result has a relaxed and supportive environment.  My daughter is happy, performs well, and has achieved either a merit or distinction in all her gradings.

DTA is everything you could want from a dancing school and then so much more. Kind,supportive and caring teachers who really know and care about their students and support them to be the very best they can. My daughter began lessons age 3 in the melody bear class and she has never looked back,her love of dancing and performing has grown and grown. DTA creates a real family atmosphere with older students not only helping in the younger classes but acting as excellent role models for them. Through covid and lockdowns the school worked tirelessly to maintain links and help bring some normality to their students. A recent highlight has to be the performance team trip to Disney which was superbly organised,brilliantly choreographed,rehearsed and performed. If you are considering Dance classes for your child then DTA should be the top of your list.
